Kade Verwey Shows Serious Speed In WorldSSP300 Despite Donington Race Crash

Kade Verwey was unlucky not to finish his debut race in the FIM Supersport 300cc World Championship at Donington Park, Leicestershire on Sunday after bettering his lap times around the 2.5 mile undulating circuit by over 3 seconds over the course of the weekend.

The Prosecco Doc UK round was the 4th round of the 2018 World Championship and gave Kade the opportunity to not just show his natural racing talent and speed but also his ability to interact with fans and media alike.

Qualifying 28th, on the grid for the 13 lap encounter the #77 rider rode hard smashing his personal best lap after lap as he showed everyone watching why he is one to watch and a contender for the British title despite a small spill at the Melbourne Loop two laps from home.

Kade Verwey:
“I want to start by saying what an experience riding in the World Championship. Not just in terms of the riders I was on track with but also being part of the Paddock Show and being on stage throughout the weekend. It was really good and I really enjoyed it. FP1 was wet and was all about me regaining my confidence after an earlier season spill. In Free Practice two, there was a drying line which was similar to when I won in BSB. I wasn’t pushing crazy as we had a completely new set-up. I made a big step in qualifying and it was great to learn from the fastest guys in the world. In the race I made an ok start, and was lapping over 3 seconds a lap faster than I was when I won in BSB. Massive thanks to all my sponsors for making it happen. I can’t wait to see what we can do now in the remaining BSB races now that I have this new found confidence and speed!”
